Does LG 5K Ultrafine charge while sleeping?

I've read that the LG 5K Ultrafine has to be "on" to charge, and the display is always "on" when the MBP is itself turned "on".

I plan on keeping my MBP always on when on power, but would like the displays to sleep after 30mins or so, will the MBP keep charging in this scenario?

The LG 5K UltraFine Display charges all devices on all four ports as long as it is plugged in. That is true whether or not the display is actually "on".
