I want an adapter that will convert the Lightning connector to a micro USB port.

Does this exist?

May I suggest something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Certified-EZO...783&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+usb+lightning+cable so you don't have to carry around the adapter and risk losing it?

That is another great solution. Better for my 11 yo daughter whom I was also trying to create the same solution. Thanks.

Not a bad idea. How about just the adapter as pictured above. Link for that one? I already have tons of micro usb cables. Just would like the adapter.

As a note and similar to Kisey's suggestion above, I found this in my local Apple store tonight: http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F8J080/

With either of these two products you can carry only one cable and still charge your phone and the external battery.
