Does Mac screen sharing work over the internet?

Hi all.

I want to be able to see the screen on my dads Mac so that I can talk him through how to deal with his photos. I also have a Mac and my dad is in my Apple family under my account.

What is the best way for me to be able to remotely see my dads screen so I can talk him through this?

You can easily share and request to share the screen in the Messages app.
