Does MacKeeper steal info?

I noticed my dad had it on his computer, and just used AppZapper to remove it and even read an article to look into login items, sharing aspect, and Library/Application Support and Activity Monitor to make sure there's no remnants of it.

It's on 10.6 but I figured I needed to know asap so I posted in the Mountain Lion thread.
