Hi all.

I have a 2012 MacMini that is permanently switched on. It is running MacOS 10.15.7. There are 4 user accounts logged into this computer all of which are associated with an Apple ID to download and keep all photos, and subsequently backed up to a Time Machine backup.

Should this setup keep all of the accounts photos up-to-date? I find when I login to each account after having not touched the computer for a few days that the Photos app reports 'last updated X' where X is quite a few days ago.

Many thanks.

M.

I used to have 3 accounts with Photos libraries in this situation and at that time, each account would need to be logged in, and the Photos app running in order to stay updated. I assume that’s still the case but for the last couple of years it’s just the one account for me.

I don’t mind logging into the accounts every so often to keep them updated but it would be so much better if it just did it all in the background without intervention.
