From the forum rules:
Selling outside the Marketplace. All threads offering items for sale or trade, asking to buy items, or asking for pricing advice on items to be sold must be posted in the Marketplace forum, which is accessible only to qualified members and subject to additional rules; see the Marketplace Rules for details. Members not eligible for the Marketplace forum may not start threads elsewhere for such purposes.

Eligibility for Marketplace:
Before you can access the Marketplace forum, you need a minimum post count of 250, as displayed in your User Profile, and you must have been a MacRumors member for at least 180 days (about 6 months). Posts in certain forums (e.g., the "Politics, Religion, Social Issues" and "Console Games" forums) do not count toward this total. Marketplace posts do not count toward your total post count either. Details are in the Forum Rules. If you start a "for sale" thread or make other Marketplace-type posts in another forum to avoid the minimum requirements, your thread/posts will be deleted.

Could someone sticky and PM these users, there seems to be an increasing amount of these threads, I mean there is one literally four(?) threads below this that was started hours earlier. It seems that people are no longer reading the rules...funny how that is?

If they don't read the rules, what makes you think they'll read the sticky?

It would be at the top? Someone could label it "trying to sell things" or something that would attract people? Or at least a way to show the marketplace, but then for users that are not eligible have them go to a screen explaining their ineligibility, that might not be possible though?

The problem is that almost all these posts were not made in the Site and Forum Feedback section, but moved here. So making a sticky in here would not help.

iSee...that changes things a tad...

Maybe you could start PMing the new members that post threads you think are duplicates to tell them what they should do, since it seems to bother you so much.
I somehow think that would somehow crossover into moderating-esk duties, but if it's true that threads are being moved here, I understand a tad bit more.

Maybe have a PM sent to members as soon as they sign up and call it:

IN ORDER TO SELL ITEMS ON MACRUMORS.com..... or something of the like. Doesn't mean they will read it but...

If I recall, the first thing that MR says before you click the register is a big banner that says if it's your first time, read the FAQ.

They don't have time to read that... too big of a hurry to post about the virus their Mac has and what AV they need

Maybe when they were new they read the rules, the FAQs and stickies before posting? You know, like a conscientious person would?

I didn't.

I read FAQ when I thought of a question about the site and usually found answers but I also probably asked about some things in the forums as well.

The first time I read the rules properly was when I was invited to become a moderator.
