As far as I can tell 8600Ms support hardware decoding of H.264 video, but can MacBook Pros (latest generation) take advantage of it?

As I see it there are 3 possibilities:

1. Apple got nVidia to leave that out to boost their margins.

2. Its in there, but OS X can't take advantage of it (can Windows?).

3. Its in there and OS X can take advantage of it.

Thanks,

Russell

The correct 'answer' is nr 2: it's in there, but OS X can't use it, Windows can.

well if you play your videos through directx 8/9 in windows it tells your gfx card to do it and not the CPU
