Does mid-2009 Macbook Pro discs work on late 2008 MBP?

Sorry, here's the corrected question. Can I use the Recovery Discs that come with mid-2009 macbook pro to install Mac OS X and iLife on a Late-2008 Macbook Pro?

No. You need the discs that match the model.

You said "late 2008" in the thread title and yet you said "late-09" in your post. Which is it? There is no such thing as a "late-09" MacBook Pro so provided they are the same model it should work.

Highly unlikely. You could try it, but don't expect too much.

I don't think you can. I tried using an iBook G3 install disk on an iMac G3 and it didn't work. Needs to be the same hardware I think, and even if it did work there might be issues. You can use the Application install disk though (I think).
