Sorry, here's the corrected question. Can I use the Recovery Discs that come with mid-2009 macbook pro to install Mac OS X and iLife on a Late-2008 Macbook Pro?

You said "late 2008" in the thread title and yet you said "late-09" in your post. Which is it? There is no such thing as a "late-09" MacBook Pro so provided they are the same model it should work.

I don't think you can. I tried using an iBook G3 install disk on an iMac G3 and it didn't work. Needs to be the same hardware I think, and even if it did work there might be issues. You can use the Application install disk though (I think).
