there
I just plugged in my iPad (gen 5 2017)into my MacBook air running Mojave, and the photos app does not recognize the device while iTunes does. I was wondering if our friends at  decided to un-support iOSX 14 from Mojave recently like in March because in February everything still synced properly.

if so, i shake my fist at them, if not, is there a patch or software i need now?

thanks!

works fine for me. Make sure you unlock your phone first if you havent used it in over an hour. It has security features that block USB access

Your MacBook Air can be upgraded to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6, why not do that so that you have the most recent compatible operating system for it? That would also improve the likelihood of maintaining compatibility with current and future iOS upgrades, for a longer period of time.

High Sierra is the version of macOS which came out prior to Mojave. In any case, Mojave still works with iOS 14 but this computer is now running an unsupported version of Mojave.

this is all i needed to know, maybe something is not tweaked on my end or iPad
thank you!
fixed! i closed "Photos" on the macbook air, and opened that up again while the iPad was plugged in.
whew, i had 6GB of videos and photos i wanted to wire import instead of clogging the wifi this morning.
