Does Mountain Lion have all the new HiDPI interface elements for the retina display?

I saw the sliders for the graphics resolution selection- but will Mountain Lion allow you to operate purely in "retina" mode where everything is the same size as it was originally, just 4x the pixel resolution? I just want everything to look sharper... I assume that the one thing left for the MacBook Pro with retina display to really "shine" is to have all of the interface elements be 4x the resolution of what exists currently in lion...
