Does my my basic white (June 2009) macbook support optical out?

I'd be using optical out with an external DAC (digital to audio converter).

How would do I use it? This is the DAC I would be using: http://www.amazon.com/Cambridge-DacMagic-Digital-Analog-Converter/dp/B001QFGOLW

(I understand that I could use USB, but i'd prefer optical out if its possible)

I don't know anything about what you're trying to do, but all 2009 MacBooks support optical digital output. You might get better results with this question by having an "Mod" move it to the MacRumors: Mac Forums > Special Interest > Digital Audio. To have it moved use the Report Post icon (
