Do screen protectors actually prevent the screen from being cracked upon a drop? I want to get the catalyst waterproof case but it says I can’t use a screen protector on the phone because it’ll mess up the waterproof. And if you look at their screen protector it doesn’t look like it’ll protect much in a drop

I would guess screen protectors help more against scratches rather than drops.

Personally I don’t use them.

It helps, not by much but it can sometimes lesson the impact enough especially with small drops to save your screen.

When it comes to cases and screen protectors I normally rely on MobileReviewsEh on YouTube.

Yes. The 11 series also gets horrible micro scratches unlike any other iPhone series. Screen protector is more important than a case for me. Waterproof case seems like a gimmick also; the 11 already has high water resistance rating.

I personally use the FlexGear full coverage tempered glass protectors with an Apple case of choice (leather, silicone, clear, or smart battery) on my 11 Pro. Those protectors cover the notch unlike many others so it's hard to tell they're on there.

The catalyst case is waterproof but has decent drop protection. And although it has a water resistance rating it’s not the best. I prefer a waterproof case as I know I’ll be protected especially when I go swimming and just forget my phone is in my pocket

Yes I would recommend a screen protector. They are more to reduce scratches than cracks but they help with both I think

A case would provide better drop protection. A screen protector is more of protecting from scratches.
