Does not play sound out of right external speaker

Hello,

When I connect my Logitech speaker system (via headphone jack) to my MacBook Pro very little sound comes out of the right speaker, but fullsound comes from the subwoofer and left speaker. I know it isn't the speakers that are the problem as the right speaker works when I have my iPhone connected. Is there a setting on the Mac that I might be able to modify or could it be an issue with the headphone jack itself?

Try going to Apple menu, System Preferences, under Hardware, click on Sound and check that the balance is set in the middle.
