Does Office for Mac Increase Virus Risk?

I thought I read that Office for Mac will increase virus or other malware type risk.

Can anyone substantiate this? I need to install Office for Mac on my MBP.

There has never been a virus in the wild that affects Mac OS X since it was released 10 years ago. The handful of trojans that exist can be easily avoided with some education and common sense and care in what software you install:

Just make sure you don't install a pirated version of any software.
