Here's an admittedly silly question...
Do you ever need to clean the Superdrive? I've got an eMac and 2 cats and a teenager who eats at the computer (I know, I know, but I do it too  ) At any rate, I'm mostly worried about dust and cat hair.

I know there are kits to clean VCR's but the VCR folks will tell you never to do that 'cause you can scratch or otherwise damage the play head.

But, what about the DVD drive? Same story? Don't clean it? Vacuum it?

get one of those cleaning CD's at any music or electronics store. its just a CD with a brush on it to clean the lens. They are a rip off for what they are, but can resurrect drives and stereos that are having issues playing media.
