Generally it works if the object is within the correct focal length.

It's still in Beta, and I've found it to be hit-or-miss with my 8+.

The background doesn't look all that blurred though. Pretty much looks like a regular non-portrait shot to me. As I said, portrait mode still seems to be hit-or-miss.

The background was blurred well but it was killing the picture with unwanted items. That’s why I cropped it.
