Does Push notifications cost?

For example, I want to start using the WhatsApp/Ping! apps but i'm worried that if i allow push notifications then it will cost (i'm on pay as you go). I also have no internet (data is the word i think?) plan.

I'm clueless about getting the full potential out of my iphone, but i am trying!

Anything that draws data from your celular network will cost you without a data plan.

As long as you're on WiFi it will be free.
