If you reserved through Apple as a new customer, does this mean you are approved for the line? Did Apple check? Could there be people declined after waiting in the reserve line or a deposit added?

If some of the reserves are declined, I assume ther would be more walk in stock.

When I bought my 3G a while back I was new to ATT. I did the order on line and set up an appointment to walk in to the Apple store to pick up the phone. Everything was pre-approved for me, I just had to verify the info and pay for the phone.

So- not exactly what you're doing but if you filled out all the info online (name, social, and all that) then you should be pre-approved.

I believe it does mean that you were pre-approved. However, I hope my credit wasn't pulled 50 million times in the 3 hours I was trying to reserve it.
