Does restoring iPhone 4s to new cure battery drain?

I have read numerous posts on the iphone 4s battery issue after updating to io6

I was just wondering if anyone has had success in doing a fresh install of their iphone and not loading a back up?

Or does anyone know another fix? My battery has dropped 15% in a couple of hours and I have barely used the handset apart from a few emails coming in.

The consensus is that fresh installs of major iOS updates do run more smoothly overall. Everyone's experience differs slightly, but a clean install certainly will not make battery life worse. If you feel it is worth it you should give it a try and report back here, as the rest of us would certainly like to know.
