Does restoring the 3g Iphone restore its firmware?

I want to try updating my Iphone 3g to 2.0.2 but I hear all these complaints about it so I want to know if I experiment and do update to 2.0.2 can I still downgrade? how would i do it? restore?


I really dont want to update to 2.0.2 but I just want to see if all the fiss fuss about it will happen on my phone too

If you upgrade it will be pretty much impossible to downgrade because the modem firmware also gets upgrade and stays upgraded even if you restore
