Does Sierra fix volume adjuster issue with HDMI external monitor?

My macbook pro is connected to dell 32" curved monitor using HDMI cable. The problem is i can't use the keyboard volume adjuster. I have to use the monitor's volume adjuster. Does Sierra fix this issue?
