I've got a blue iBook I'm trying to connect to a Quicksilver. Both machines are running X.1.5.

In OS X, target disk mode doen't work. When I boot into OS 9 and do exactly the same thing, it works no worries.

What goes on?

Yeah back to cold Melbourne :(

TDM == Target Disk Mode. You plug two Macs together using a firewire cable... very similar to using an external firewire drive.

And just like SCSIing two computers together, if you can remember back that far...

Um, dunno

Hey, where is the cigar???????

Sorry I can't help with the TDM problem. If it works in 9, it should work in X. Did it work in X.1.4? Maybe it's a X.1.5 problem???

I had this same problem with my friend's iBook.

I also found that it would work using the other computer as the target disk (if that makes any sense at all--its hard to describe what I mean)

If you find an answer I'd be very interested to hear it.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

TDM does work in OS X. It works great between my G4 tower (old one--400MHz) and my TiBook (also older--400MHz).

So I think the problem we are experiencing is limited to a specific situation.

when I saw "TDM" I thought "Team Death Match" and was like, "of course it worx as long as the game is OS X compliant."
