Not sure what you mean exactly.

It gets hot just like the 15.

Heat dissipation is fine: I run a CPU temperature meter and they run cool most of time.

I have a 17" high res 2.6

Just wondering since its a bit larger.

I think it depends on the model...the 2.4 and 2.6 will be hotter than the 2.2GHz.

The 17" with 2.6GHz and a 7200RPM drive with Hi-Res will probably hotter. But, now that you bring up the size, I could be wrong. I don't own a 17" but it would be a good test.

I mean....does the larger 17" frame help vs heat more if the internals are the same as a 15"?

yes it would, but many of the internals on the 17 inch aren't the same.

I'd say heat dissipation is about the same. The 8600gt is slightly overclocked on the 17 inchers so they generate more heat. so it evens out.

ok i got ya, thx. I was just thinking since its a bit larger it might run a bit cooler.

I think it does my brothers 15 runs hotter then my 17 high res and faster HDD. Also it copes with loads better.
