I'm curious of the macbooks still have the audio popping issues like when its connected to external speakers.

I remember I had the 2.4ghz white macbook just a month ago and returned it because everytime it was connected to my external speakers it would pop before a sound will play and if you wait 2 minutes or so and play any sound it'll pop before making a noise again.

Has this been fixed?

Dont think so. I just bought a Black MacBook a couple of weeks ago, and mine does the same thing.

Why does it do that  I just thought it was the port powering off

I had the same problem while playing a few of my video files in quicktime but after playing them through vlc i experience no such problem
