Some people in other threads about MBA say that the KSO coupon is not valid for MBP any more, but talking to a sale rep may help. No 100% guarantee. Anyone has successfully done it? I am thinking about returning my newly bought 13' MBP and getting a new 15 from amazon, with the 20% off.

Thanks a lot!

Talk to an Amazon CSR through chat and ask them to manually apply the KSO 20% off laptop promotion to your MBP of choice. This will only work if you have a registered kindle on your account.

I was able to order my MBP 15" 2.2 last night.

Really?! Thank you for the information! So I need to call my friend and ask him to complete (talk to a sale rep) and pay the order for me?

Just chatted with an online sales rep, and he replied:

Prasanth:When you try to place the order for laptop from your friends account using the above code, please use this link below which has all the eligible list of laptops:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_353347042_4?ie=UTF8&docId=1000711201
Me:So not all laptops
Only laptops in this list?
Prasanth:Yes, this has the list of 40 laptops which are eligible for the promotion.

The promotional code only applies to the 40 listed products?!!

As an Amazon Associate, MacRumors earns a commission from qualifying purchases made through links in this post.
Before, when Amazon didn't have exclusions, all the Macbooks were eligible. Now after the exclusions, only 1 old Macbook Air is eligible. IF you can convince a rep to give you the 20% off manually, it would work for any Macbook since it's just a manual override.

hmm.. Now I am thinking about how to convince them... The email I got says that the procedure is to first add a qualifying laptop from a list, and the list in the email contains all laptops, including MBP. Will this be sufficient because they later changed the rules?

No.

Did you honestly believe that these kind of deals would last forever?

Amazon is taking a huge hit on selling these MBPs and MBAs.

They probably faced overwhelming amount of orders from Amazon shoppers.

This is a back to school season. You cannot hesitate on this kind of deal.

I only passed this deal because you cannot order MBP with higher resolution. But, if you really wanted that 15 inch MBP, then you should have jumped on board long time ago.

You'll probably have to try many reps before being successful and nothing is guaranteed obviously. Apparently quite a few have been successful but Amazon is probably getting less lenient (or at least the reps are).

Do you know any other ways to convince them?

I am desperate for the discount!:(:(:(:apple:

Save more.

Or buy the version down from what you were going to get.

I don't mean to be cold, but you either have to jump on them immediately or watch them sail on by.
