With Push Notifications? I think I remember Apple saying Push uses about 20% of your battery compared to like 80% for background apps. So is the 1.5x the battery life of the 3GS with push on or no? Cuz if it is not then are we looking at about the same battery life for the 3GS with push enabled as the 3G?

I doubt the battery life difference is that significant. The new battery life is only 2 hours longer at max, for both music and 3g talk time. If this were true one would think Apple would have talked about it when announcing the 3GS.

The battery has improved about 15-20%

So if the 3GS has 20% more battery life than the 3G and Push takes up about 20% of battery life, would it suffice to say that the 3Gs with Push will have about the same battery life than the 3G with no Push?

I would assume.

I wouldn't assume anything until the first wave of users have their phones and starts testing the battery draw that push adds to the phone.

Honestly I expect the battery performance to be worse with push even with the longer battery of the 3Gs.

This is based on our own internal testing of the affect that these notifications cause on the software we have been working on.

Isn't it the same battery as the 3G but the way the hardware runs makes it perform a little better?
