Trying to decide if I should buy AppleCare or not. I did buy the phone with my Amex card. Does that cover drops? 1 year or 2? I'm seeing conflicting info when I search.

Pretty sure it will but best to call them first; the # is on the back of your Amex card.

Accidental damage is only the first 90 days after it only extends the standard warranty.

Looks like it just extends the original Apple warranty which does not cover accidents (only Apple Care+ covers accidental).
Extend Your Warranty - Extended Warranty1 can extend the terms of the original U.S. manufacturer's warranty for up to one additional year on eligible purchases with warranties of 5 years or less, when the eligible purchase is charged to the Card.

That being said, Amex does have 90 day purchase protection that covers everything from damage to loss.

Exactly as stated above. AmEx extends the insurance. It extends the manufacture warranty to 2 years, which is why I didn't purchase Apple Care for my 4S. Things could change so inquire before using it to charge. Also, ADH (Accidental Damage & Handling) is for a very limited time. Someone posted 90 days. That's about right, but check, maybe, each AmEx Blue, Gold, Black or Platinum is different.
