I had pre-ordered the phone but couldn't make it the day of my pickup schedule so I got a notification that my pre-ordered had been cancelled.

Ordering it now will take a few weeks wait..... Does the Apple store still get daily shipments for walk-in/lineup in the mornings before they open? I might try that to get it sooner if possible. Even if it's first come first serve I'm still fine with going an hour or two before opening for a chance to pick one up.

Yes, daily replenishment, at least during the launch window.

I used istocknow to find my phone, it looks like most stores update their online inventory around 6am. Once they had my phone in stock I ordered for pick up that day.

What’s the launch window? I don’t see anything in last 24 hours for pro on istocknow. Bummer everyone just has the 11!

They may even get shipments more than once a day during the aforementioned launch window. When my local stores updated their inventory this morning (6am), there were only 512gb Pro models available. 3-4 hours later when I checked, some 256gb Pro models had shown up — one of which I promptly ordered :)

Call the Apple Store you want to purchase from and find out if they will have anyone outside before opening setting up reservations so that you don't just show up to a closed storefront.

I would just check back every day. I didn't preorder and was able to reserve my 64GB MG Pro Max in the middle of launch day. I was surprised but was prepared to check back everyday because I felt that even if it took me a week to get my hands on it that was still sooner than ordering for home delivery.

I think they have a much better handle on manufacturing these past few years. I was able to get the X walking up to the store on launch day, launch day delivery of the XS and now this one. The last time I had difficulty was the 7 Plus in Jet Black and that had slipped to two months. I scored one locally by sheer luck but the finish on those just made them impossible to manufacture quickly.

Went to my local store this morning when they opened, they had every color available except midnight green....told me they won't have that for a while and I could only pre-order it online :( Guess I have to wait two weeks. Sigh.

Bummer - think that's what I want! Going to go check them out tomorrow. I'm still mourning the loss of my smaller phone so want to see in person before committing.

:p

I was told by an Apple retail employee today that they don’t even know what they’ll be getting on a daily basis— how many shipments and what will be in each shipment. (Surely that information exists, I’m just saying the employee who spoke with you probably isn’t privy to that info).

I think Apple tries to make as many options available in store as possible. The green might sell out faster due to its novelty but I don’t think online order (shipping option) demand has much, if anything, to do with how many greens physical stores get.

When I ordered my phone this morning for in-store pickup, the 2 color options I had (for my carrier and desired screen size and capacity) were gold and midnight green. I’ve had no interest in the green and was already set on gold, but when I saw a green actually available I definitely considered it for a few seconds :p

Anyways. Point is that they probably will get some in if you’re a bit patient and keep checking.

Yeah, I'll definitely keep checking every morning.

Something strange is happening though, I placed a pre-order for the 11 Pro Max online today after I left the store...an hour later I checked on the order and it said "you cancelled this order." Wtf?

So I place another pre-order, it went through and got a confirmation. I check it a little while later and it says "you cancelled this order" Wtf x2

I have no idea why they're cancelling my pre-orders? :/
