I've had the Apple Watch 2 and 4, but after a year or so, I stopped wearing them as they seemed more of a notification device than a tool. I am considering getting another Apple Watch, probably the newest one. But before I get it, I need to know if they've added this simple feature yet.

Can you add a calendar event or reminder from the Apple Watch WITHOUT using Siri? Or can you still only add it on your iPhone?

I'll also add that Siri has been improved on the series 9 and Ultra 2 with the inclusion of a neural engine. Processing of Siri requests is done locally on the watch instead of being sent to the cloud, making her faster and more accurate.

Just learning from this thread about adding events using the watch UI, but will probably continue to use Siri to do so because it's faster and easier.

Think I would use Siri more if it were locally on my Ultra 1 as well... The short wait sometimes makes it feel like I could do it easier myself.

At some point, I just stopped using Siri on my AWU1, it's faster just to do whatever action myself or using Siri on my iPhone. Mostly home stuff like turning the lights on or opening the garage door.
