Does the Black Macbook appear to have a brighter screen than the white?

Is it just me, or does the black macbook appear to have a brighter screen when compared to the white due to the contrast of the black color around the screen?

I took a look at both at the store, and I thought quite the opposite. The white one on the far right was brighter then the black one in the middle. I made sure both had the contrast turned all the way up, then down 1 notch as well.

I'm sure our eyes are just playing tricks on us though, and that they are exactly identical.
