Does the Dropbox App still resize photos when exporting them?

I know this was the case several years ago but I am wondering if it still is?

I know that if I go through safari and do it then I'll get the original photo, but is there anyway to do this using the app? I'm ok with optimized pictures for my devices but sometimes I want to send the originals etc
