Does the EyeTV/Elagato software let you select WHEN to record ahead of time?

yes, similar to Tivo you can schedule a recording

yeah, i schedule recordings all the time, it also lets you start recording a certain # of minutes before the show comes on and after it ends
overall the eyetv software is very good
just dont buy toast if you dont already have it to burn DVD's (the MPEG2 is inside the .eyetv file)

Yep, its like scrolling through tv listings then picking the ones you want, (although it does not list every channel annoyingly) or manually select the times and channel
