iPad Pro Does the hover function work with third party pencils? Or just with the Apple Pencil 2?

I’m wondering if the new hover functionality works with third party pencils such as the Penoval Stylus. Thank you.

(I did a quick search on the forum, but only found third party apps, not third party pencils)

The feature is called Apple Pencil Hover, so suspect it's exclusive to the Apple Pencil 2 right now.
