If you throw sand, rocks, or knives at your iMac, yes. If people often "key" your iMac, yes. If you often take it to work and occasionally drop it on the pavement... you need to get yourself a macbook.

iMacs definitely don't need a screen protector. I can understand wanting one for a macbook pro if you, or others, are forever touching the screen... but just no. You really shouldn't let anything touch, let alone scratch, the screen.

What would one want to protect an iMac screen from? :rolleyes:
 
Strangely enough naysayers, during my first week of owning my new 27" iMac, I had my Macbook Air open in front of it while taking some files across, went to angle the Air screen back and the sharp corner edge has left a small but perceptible scratch lower centre. Up until that point, I had assumed the screen was glass, not softish plastic!
