Does the iPad 2 with a smart cover need a sleeve?

I'm pretty certain I'll be getting one of the leather smart covers when I buy the iPad 2 this Friday, but is that going to be enough protection? I think it will still need a sleeve or some other case, particularly when I take them out of the house. I'm also going to miss not having a stand with adjustable viewing angles. Does anyone else think they will need an additional case or sleeve to go along with the smart cover and what do you suggest? Incase has an Origami sleeve (http://www.goincase.com/products/detail/cl57575) that looks useful and is sold by Apple.

My favorite case for the iPad I have now is the Marware CEO Hybrid folio case and they have already announced an iPad 2 version (http://www.marware.com/ipad-kindle-cases-and-covers/iPad-2-Cases/C-E-O-Hybrid-iPad-2-case), but I'd really like to use the smart cover.
 
I'll be getting a sleeve for whenever I travel and throw my iPad in my backpack. I'm looking at the normal Incase sleeve since the Origami's stand function seems kind of redundant but it's $5 less for some reason.

You've answered your own question.

Different people will have different opinions on this, since how they carry their ipad2 will likely be different from you. There's also the factor that the readership here spans the spectrum from completely OCD about protecting against every last piece of lint to not being concerned with appearance/resale. Only you can decide where you fall on that spectrum. :)
 
I'm having the same problem, except I can't afford to buy both.

If I go with the Smart Cover, it means that inevitably I'll end up regretting not buying a sleeve for when I take it outside.

I planned on getting a leather smart cover, now I'm leaning on holding off on it since I plan on using my iPad a lot outdoors and will need a case for that more than the smart cover.
 
I think a clear protective film for scratches + a smart cover should be the way to go, UNLESS you handle your iPad in a very brutal manner (ie lots of banging/dinging around in bags).
 
I will get an iPad with a leather smart cover on Friday (hopefully), and today I ordered a cheap sleeve from Amazon to stick it in when I need to carry it around.
 
If you want a good sleeve that would be compatible with the Smart Cover, I suggest watching out for WaterField.
 
This sleeve worked wonders with iPad. And I'll be using it with iPad 2.

I would recommend just getting a netbook sleeve. I purchased an Incase one when I got my first iPad and it worked like a charm even with the Apple Case on. I figure it will fit a bit looser with the iPad 2, but should still do the trick.

This is the one I have but there are a bunch on Amazon for $10 or less. If you plan on using your iPad with a case and a sleeve, I think this is the way to go.

Agreed, I'm ordering one now with amazon prime 2 day shipping so I'll have it just in time for my new iPad 2 :D

They have them anywhere from $23-$27. Depending on color.

Oops, I didn't look through Amazon closely enough. Now I have my eBags ordered cancelled and have prime shipping for the sleeve. Thanks!

Update: Hehe. I just bought the last red one on Amazon. :)

It's a temporary and kinda cumbersome solution but for protection right now I'm using a Smart Cover and Marware Eco-Vue, and since the iPad 2 is thinner, even with the Smart Cover it slides into the Eco-Vue just right. With the cover closed it's perfect, but with the cover open it's a little trickier because of the hinge. I use it only as a "sleeve" for transporting in my bag; I don't operate my iPad in it but it's definitely do-able and because of the curved back, the speaker isn't blocked. Just my thoughts until good cases come out for it.
