Does the iphone 4 have 5x digital zoom for hd video recording?

As the title says really, in the keynote steve says 5x digital zoom is"built in to the camera app" (52m 32sec in to the keynote) but it's not clear wether this feature applies to the HD video recording?

I don't know if it will let you or not but if it does, once you zoom, even to 2x, the picture would be no longer considered HD.

Hm good question.. it has the tap to focus, so I don't see why it wouldn't have zoom.

yes it does have tap to focus and the flash feature but i've just got a feeling that the zoom feature has been left out,which is a shame i was hoping to move away from my kodak zi8.

I have 4.0 GM on my 3gs and you can tap to focus while recording, however i was unable to bring up the zoom controls while in video recording mode.

when I got my 3GS I moved away from my zi8, I havent used the thing for the last few months I am actually going to put it up on ebay shortly

i've got a 3gs and its a great little video camera but i do a lot of concert recordings and the zoom feature plus the external microphone socket on the zi8 are killer features for me.
