Or do you have to set it up again on the new phone?

Anything else the process doesn't include? Do you have to re-enter passwords on apps or sites where you're already logged in on the 'From' phone?

No.. does not include faceid

I would assume it doesn't because Apple has emphasized that Face ID data is only ever stored locally on the device so it wouldn't be in an iCloud or computer backup.

I don’t think so, given you need to set up FaceID or TouchID every time you restore a device from backup.
As for the password, expect to enter a lot of them in the first few days after restoring from backup. Your new iPhone is a new device anyway.

No.

Same thing with TouchID.

I upgrade every year, and since the advents of both TouchID and FaceID, I've had to reconfigure them when moving to a new device. It's as it should be.
