Does the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter work with GoPro?

With iOS 9.2 the USB Camera Adapter now works with iPhone, I'm curious if it works to download pictures and videos from GoPro onto my phone. I would use the GoPro app, but I've been having some problems transferring videos over approx 8 minutes long. It doesn't work at all, I've contacted their support and they claim it's a limitation of my phone, so that's why I'm curious and would be thrilled if the Camera Adapter does work.

What I have:
iPhone 6S Plus 128GB
GoPro Hero 3 Silver (videos shot in 1080p 60fps)
64GB Micro SDXC memory card
