If my dad adds me as an authorized user (I'm 19), does he still have to be at the Apple Store for me to buy + activate an iPhone 4? I could have sworn I read online somewhere that I needed him if I wanted to do it at an Apple Store even if I'm an authorized user.

Thanks.

I don't think so. Both of our phones are in my husbands name but he added me as an authorized user and I picked up both of ours at the AT&T store.

Yea that would work but I'm wondering about at the Apple Store. The AT&T store near me is ALWAYS sold out and the Apple Store I'm sure will have some stock.

My mom is the main account holder but I added myself as an authorized user. I'm able to upgrade and get phone myself and also change anything on account.

No, you will need some info from that person, last 4 of SSN#, maiden name, or whatever that person choose as security passcode to authenticate the account.

If you're an authorized user on the account, you shouldn't have any problems...though my girlfriend and I have always upgraded through the AT&T store...
oh yeah, you'll need the info the person above me stated...

I believe that if your an authorize user on the account you can go to AT&T and buy an iPhone without your dad being present, but if you go to the Apple Store, the Main Account holder has to be present (Apple told me once that their system doesn't tell them who is Authorized, just the Main Account Holders Name)

Yup that's what I'm worried about. I guess I'll just call ahead and ask lol
