Hey,

this is a plug for my tv...does the mbp have one of these or do I need to purchase some type of adapter?

Looks like regular VGA, so you'll need a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter.

Edit: or buy a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter, and get a DVI to VGA plug from someone (everyone has those things laying around and they're as good as free anyways). That way you can connect it to a proper DVI screen, and to your TV as well, and it'll cost you only one adapter.

Wirelessly posted (iPod Touch 2G 8GB: Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/5.0.0176/742; U; en) Presto/2.4.15)

This is called a VGA connector. Yes, you need an adapter. Apple sells some, Im pretty sure.

No. The new Macbook Pros do not have that connector. You will need one of these. When you go through the customize page at the Apple Store site you can choose the one you need. You need the VGA one.

Since the MacBook Pros currently use Mini Display Port, you need to Mini Display Port to VGA adapter (NOT the mini DVI to VGA adapter! that's for older models). Just ask a Specialist at the Apple Store when you get the MacBook Pro, they will help you with any accessories you might need ;)
