does it have any problems with audio or video ?

i have 15'' mbp (late 2008)

we currently have an 32' lcd hdtv (720p)

also we are planning to buy big LED hdtv (1080p)

will the cable support 1080p fine ?

thanks for answering

also any suggestion for buying led hdtv (maybe 50-60 inch )

Late 2008 MBP doesn't output audio through the mini display port.

what ??

then how to output the audio ?

and how did you know about this ? (late 2008 can't output audio)

Because I have one. And an adaptor which can do audio on the 2010 models.

It will output video fine. The sound will come out of the internal speakers. Or you could plug in a cable to the line out. It's analog/digital integrated.

Even the new models can t output audio?

What is the cable to output audio ?
And did you try the internal speakers from the mbp ? Is it fine ?

the adapater that came with the mini was a POS. I popped on ebay and bought a dvi to hdmi cable and haven't had a single drop out.

Mini >>> HDMI to DVI = video over DVI and audio via optical
Mini >>> HDMI to HDMI = audio (up to 5.1) and video

Decent cables are very affordable so forego any adapters.

TVs are seperated into price ranges.
it depends how much you want to spend.

Sony, Samsung, Vizio and LG in that order. JMO though

That won't work due to the fact that it's a Mini-DVI to HDMI cable and your model of the MBP (late 2008) only has a Mini DisplayPort.

But yes, if you do get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable, it will only transmit the video and will need another cable for the audio.

Oh i mixed about the DVI and displayport, and i didn't notice that.

thanks for telling me.
