Does the MobileMe trial still destroy your address book?

I recall a few months ago that someone posted if you cancel or chose not to continue and convert your subscription from trial to paid you have your address book and all data lost.

Is this still true? I'm on the fence to try it (I've lost my contacts too many times) but if in a few months $100 seems expensive I don't wish to Lise everything.

Any idea on this?
