Does the new Lighting Apple TV Remote work with the new iPhone dock?

Title says it all guys,

Is it confirmed whether the device works with the dock for charging purposes?

I have the dock and since the port is on the bottom of the remote should easily stand on the dock the same as my iPhone and iPad Mini do.

It works fine as a charger for the remote. The remote is a lot lighter then the phones so it doesn't put much strain on the port.

Not sure if that is needed I have been using it for about a month and it still shows a full battery. I can't think it will need to be plugged in very often.

The good news is no more CR2032 batteries.
