Does the new Live Hotmail works with Mac Mail?

There is a new beta version of the Windows Live Mail (which updates the interface of hotmail).

I really don't enter hotmail that much, I see my mails trough Mail App (using the httpmail plugin).

My question is if this Hotmail update changes something that will make Mail not able to enter my Hotmail Account?

I wouldn't have thought the interface update would touch the account settings.

I know you have to now pay for a hotmail account to use with a third party client such as Mail, but the older hotmail addresses aren't affected by this.

I'm not sure how much of the backend Microsoft is changing, or if they are just making a new "client". I don't think they are doing a lot of backend stuff, so it should still work.
