I have tried several Macbooks at different stores and so far not seen any get really hot. I compare to the MBP, pre unibody.
However an interesting observation, I have seen the 2.4 being the coolest in two of the stores!

When doing normal stuff, not using handbreak, does it ever get hot?
Especially does it get too hot to use in your lap?

Thanks

Handbrake gets it warm but i wouldnt say hot.. and no its not too hot on your lap. Ive never had to remove it from discomfort.

EDIT: misread your post, no it never gets hot doing normal stuff.

Nothing like the last gen. or iBooks. They really do run cool and can run in your lap for nearly everything even Handbrake. Even though the proc. gets hot, the case never gets truly uncomfortable - warm yes, but not too uncomfortable for lap usage.

I am using Handbrake right now and it's not hot at all, but the fans are going to keep it cool. But overall the hot spots are in the middle of the unibody like a tad off to the right of the Macbook logo on the screen.

How long had you been surfing when you got this temperature?
