I can't get the Parked Car waypoint to work on my first-gen Apple Watch Ultra, either via the complication or when tapping through to the Compass app. Specifically, the complication is gray and inert, and the compass app shows no waypoint. Meanwhile, my iPhone 15PM marks the Parked Car location properly in its Maps app, using either Bluetooth-connected car audio or the Driving focus (engaged through movement).

This might be related to the Weather Complication Bug (which I'm also seeing), but the two fixes there haven't fixed this issue for me. Taking it a step further, I set both my iPhone and AWU up as new devices when the phone arrived. I also found this Reddit thread, but the fix mentioned there didn't work either. I'm running iOS 17.0.3 and watchOS 10.0.2.

It seems to be working for me but on S8. Tapping on the i shows the map coordinate location in the Compass app. Do you have Location Services turned on including all of those under System Services even Significant Locations and Compass app to use Precise Location? The issue could be specific to Ultra. I’m also on watchOS 10.1 beta 2.

Location Services is turned on, including Compass on the general LS screen (it‘s set to “While Using the App”), and then under System Services, Compass Calibration and Significant Locations are both on.

I just had this issue as well. I solved it by going into the Bluetooth settings on my iPhone for the vehicle and making sure it listed the device as a car stereo. Apparently this got unchecked during one of the latest updates. At least on my phone.

Good call, I double-checked that setting, and it's still correct. Debating about getting back onto the beta updates to see if that sorts it out.

Mine has always “just worked.”

… with a caveat. If I’m driving a car that the phone / watch doesn’t know about (such as one without Bluetooth), I have to use Siri on the phone, not the watch, to update the parked car location. First world problem, I know, but still frustrating.

But, just Friday I did exactly that to be sure we could easily find our way back to the car at the Huntington Library … very large lot, lots of trees so no clear line of sight … the exact sort of location where you’d not be surprised to wander for some time chirping the horn with the remote. The waypoint worked perfectly.

I finally got this to work; I'll update if it flakes out again. My steps were:
  1. Updated iPhone 15PM to iOS 17.1 Developer Beta 3
  2. Updated Apple Watch Ultra to watchOS 10.1 Developer Beta 3 (after both restarted, the complication and Compass app still showed nothing)
  3. Toggled iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Compass Calibration off and back on again (as suggested in the Reddit post)
I got a popup about some magnetic interference potentially affecting the compass; I can't remember if that happened before or after I tapped the complication. Then the Compass app told me I'd arrived at the Parked Car waypoint and displayed that within the app. The complication works as well. Thanks to everyone for your experiences and suggestions.
