Hi,

I am in need of a laptop and I was contemplating getting one of craigslist. I am getting a good deal on it, but a lot of reviews I've read mention the lagginess.

I have used the Haswell Macbook Air 13 and really liked the snappiness of it. Is the rMBP similar or noticeably laggier?

The two main use cases for this laptop will be Lightroom/RAW editing for some seriously large files (46MP using Sigma's processing software) and Software development of all sorts. I do not worry about the latter use case.

Question 1: Is there going to be a noticeable lag for 100% previews in LR for large RAW and TIFF files? What about the various sliders?

I have done some searching but most complaints about lag seem to be for the 2.5GHz model running versions of OSX older than 10.8.3. The one I'm looking to purchase is 2.6GHz and

Question 2: Are there any display issues I should worry about? Does the Samsung vs LG display variation still hold true?

Question 3: Is the ghosting issue still prevalent?

Question 4: Should I just wait until Haswell and pay a (nice chunk) more for it? Personally the battery life offered by the current rMBPs seems plenty for my use case and I would rather not pay extra for that. I just want a non laggy/non problematic display.

The reason I'm making this topic is because I'm unable to tell if the problem doesn't exist anymore or people have just accepted it as a price to pay for gen 1 product. Please help, I'm really looking forward to purchase this but I can't stand any lagginess.

Thank you!
