I don't think Apple has ever sold any generation of the iPhone SE in its "Certified Refurbished" store, at least not in the U.S.

Best Buy still sells the SE3 unlocked as a new model. They also have open box models available (depending on your location) at a discount.

I don’t see them either. There’s probably no market because you can buy them carrier locked for less than $150 new. Certified refurbished would be more expensive than that.

took a look. not interested in paying $430 for one with 64 gb. a refurbished one with 64 drops ro $160. there is one 13 mini refurb with 128 gb, but still in the $430 range. used market is probably best bet. most of the carrier models are probably 64 gb as well.

They don't seem to have 128GB though. :(

If they ever show up in the Apple Clearance store, they will be gone within minutes.

Almost certainly. A retailer here in NZ listed the 64 GB model for ~170 USD a few days ago and they vanished pretty much instantly.

I assume the price will drop once the 16e is released. Hard to see them actually selling at full price except for those of us who are truly determined to get one.

I can't find many UK resellers with any SE3 stock ay all, apart from DealMonday, and those dodgy "opened not used, minimum battery 83%" phones on eBay.
Apple seem to have starved the market, whereas back in the day I bought an iphone 6S from a reseller for £250 while iphone 8 was the new model.

More like a marketing decision. When Apple sells refurbs, it puts downward pressure on new SE sales prices. Those prices are already very low. Apple is willing to refurb Pencil, AirPods, and Watch SE so they're clearly willing to do the work.

Apple seem to have starved the market...
Definitely so. They stopped carrying configurations other than base in local stores a few months ago, and even base ones were recently out of stock. Only option was to order online.

Dealmonday just gave me a 4 week wait warning, may never get the SE3!

When I finally receive the SE3, does anyone know if AppleCare+ will still be available now the model is not listed in Apple.com? It isn't listed on their support page as eligible, it stops at iphone 15

I don’t see why you wouldn’t be. You bought it brand new, right? The device is still supported from a software perspective, so unless you bought it used from a third-party retailer, you should be able to add AC+.

What do they do with the unsold stock when the item is discontinued? I wanted to buy one and had one in my cart last week but it disappeared. I didn’t pull the trigger because I was headed out of town and couldn’t accept the delivery until I got back. They clearly had stock at the time…

They’ll probably use them as replacements under warranty or AC+. If they damage your phone during a battery service, they’ll offer a replacement. I was told that Apple still had SE1 stock back when I had my SE1’s battery replaced in 2023.

Don’t know where you are in the world but had a look at the pricing appendix on the UK website and it still lists the monthly/fixed term fee for AppleCare+ on the document so I suspect you’d still qualify from brand new?

UK. Couldn't find SE3 on there.

Third party sellers are the only source now and all seem to be out of stock or offering at £499+. Most third party refurbs are also out of stock. People seem to love the SE.
My order has been in transit for 2 weeks, probably on an Afghan camel train, gawd knows what model it will be!

I wonder what T-Mobile will be doing with my 2022 iPhone SE. It's my trade-in for my iPhone 15. Battery was down to 79% and draining quickly in the middle of the day.

I'll miss my iPhone SE, but replacing the battery after three years didn't seem the best choice.

I wonder how far back does this go.

Newer than vintage? Newer than obsolete? Newer than both?

No idea how far it goes back however the question is intriguing. I wager they’ll go as far back as the phones they’re providing battery services to as those are the oldest iPhones they’re willing to work on.

I would imagine Apple's inventory of the SE will be kept for AppleCare customers and the rest sold to third party companies, I wouldn't expect them to appear on the Refurbished site.
