Does this AppleCare look ok ?

Hi,
I want to buy AppleCare from eBay for my UMBP that I purchased in October 08.

There is someone selling it for two different prices:
Here it is for $163.00
Here for $178

It's the same reseller.

He also mentions that he ships worldwide but I'm not sure if it means that he just sends the serial number via mail or not. I am in Europe.

What do you think ?

I would contact the seller to see if you get a box, it's rather unclear if you do or not.

Normally you can buy your Applecare for half price on eBay. They will just send you the registration number and it totally works.

The tech tool DVD image you can then download from the Apple website.

I bought it for my MBP last year and like I said above, it was half price.

Yes I know That's why I'm looking on eBay but the seller of the two links is not very clear as far as the delivery is concerned.

The opinions are mixed as to whether you need a box, I stand on the, get a box be safe side.

There is a huge thread here about that AppleCare on ebay issue.
I wouldn't do it.
I'm in the same position, I need to buy AppleCare soon, but I guess I will go for the edu discount - costs more but is 100% safe.

I still wonder though why he sells twice the same item for different prices.

Sure they give you a great price and a code that seems to register just fine. The problem comes when an issue arises and Apple asks for proof of purchase for Applecare.

Please peruse this thread and decide if the savings is worth the risk. Many have been burned by Applecare sold without the retail box.

Don't buy if you don't get a sealed box, otherwise it should be fine.
