I'm not sure what to even search for so let me describe my use and my ideal product. I generally connect my macbook to a 2nd monitor so I can use both screens, however my desk and office chair don't put me at an ideal typing height so I get sore wrists after a short time typing. I also at times have my ipad open as a 3rd reference screen. So I'd like to find a wireless keyboard I can use that ideally will connect to both my macbook and my ipad simultaneously. Does this exist?

If not, would the apple magic keyboard be the best for using with my macbook? It's a 13 inch pro, pre-M1

You can use universal control (google it). Same mouse and keyboard will control both and it will be triggered by moving your mouse offscreen to the ipad (like it was an additional monitor).

Is that only if I'm using an apple magic keyboard? I definitely need to read more about that, thank you

I've used logitech mouse/keyboard so it should work with others. I will say there are bugs in it, for example if you aren't using a magic mouse sometimes some things on the keyboard won't work (command-v to paste for example). A quick turning off/on of whatever mouse you are using fixes it for a little while but it will come back. I have no idea why the mouse impacts the keyboard but it does.
